Lawyers Help Gulf Coast Residents in Zones A & B with the BP Settlement Fund
Working with you to make sure your claim is successful
British Petroleum reached a settlement with people affected by the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill in 2012. The settlement divided people into two classes, those with economic damage and those with medical damage. People living in certain geographic zones are eligible for compensation if they have suffered specific types of medical harm, property damage or other economic damage. In order to be eligible, you must file to join as members of the class action lawsuit against BP.
The requirements to be eligible are confusing for many people and difficult to understand, but many people badly need compensation in the aftermath of the BP oil spill. The Downs Law Group simplifies the process for you in order to make it as easy as possible. If you think you fall into Zone A or Zone B, our lawyers can help you with seeking compensation.

- Persistent conditions: Conditions that have required more extensive treatment can receive up to $5,450 in benefits, and additional compensation if hospitalization has been necessary.
- Chronic conditions: Certain conditions that have not been cured and require extensive treatment are eligible for as much as $36,950 in medical benefits, and additional compensation for hospital stays.
Only certain medical conditions are eligible, and documentation is necessary. Our attorneys can provide more detailed information about benefits and requirements.

Residents in Zones A and B are eligible for compensation if certain conditions are met. Documentation depends on the nature of the medical problem. Requirements for conditions are:
- Temporary symptoms: A statement of another person and some kind of additional evidence corroborating the medical symptoms are required.
- Persistent conditions: Medical records from a professional listing the symptoms that you claim to be suffering from are needed.
