Do I Qualify?

As a leading law firm against BP for the past 10 years, the Downs Law Group has employed experienced medical staff and legal assistants who are designated as your specific case coordinators who work with the attorneys at the law firm. The lawyers of the Downs Law Group work with you to help you understand the process, so your claim is successful. If you have questions about your eligibility or how to file a claim, our attorneys are prepared to provide answers for your specific situation.

What do I need to do to become eligible?

If you were a clean-up worker or lived in a designated geographic area (Zone A and B) and were diagnosed with a qualifying medical condition as a result of the oil spill, you may be eligible for substantial compensation

Also, you can have performed “response activities;” this includes persons involved in the recovery, transport, and decontamination of wildlife affected by the Deepwater Horizon incident. It also includes captains, crews and other workers on vessels other than Vessels of Opportunity (VOO) who performed response activities and onshore personnel involved in response activities.

Keep in mind that it is possible for an eligible person to have his or her claim denied if mistakes regarding rules and procedures are made in the application process.
